Here’s the plan: This, my personal blog, will contain examples of my photography, snippets of overheard conversations, found items, and any other stuff I find interesting. A veritable dumping ground if you will. Updates will as likely as not be spasmodic.
I worked for 15 years as an editorial photographer in London back when nobody had heard of ‘digital’ and mobile phones were the size of a small suitcase. My clients included BBC Worldwide, IPC Media and The Sunday Times.
In 2001 when I realized that to be very successful as a commercial photographer I’d need to become either a) bloody fantastic or b) an egomaniac (this latter option already being heavily overpopulated), I knew it was time to leave the big city and seek out new beginnings.
Now I enjoy a quiet life in South Wales where I work as a web designer/developer; primarily using WordPress as a CMS, creating and developing web sites for studios on both sides of the Atlantic.
2008. After abandoning photography for nearly 7 years I’ve started to shoot again, finding a new joy in using a ‘serious compact’, a Ricoh GRD1. [Update 2010: I've treated myself to a Leica M9, with a 35mm Summicron. 2011: Added a 50mm Summilux to the arsenal.]
For the curious; I’m shooting a lot of street photography which can be seen here and my old professional photography portfolio remains online here.
